Crucifying the resurrected “self” with Christ and resurrects our death faith with Christ.
Happy Resurrection Day.
On the Eve of Good Friday and Easter I was praying from my hospital room for my fellow Christians in the world. What the Holy Spirit revealed to me in prayer was that there are many dead faiths in the midst of Christians today. That Christians all over the world are not able to fully reach their spiritual potential that has been given to them as a gift by God so that in reaching that potential, the curtain can be removed and the Glory of God would be revealed.
Some times we want to experience the Glory and resurrection with Jesus without experiencing death with Him. We do not realize that unless we pass through the path of death with Christ, we are not able to experience resurrection with Christ.
We want to have a good and successful marriage, career, education and family life (which is also God’s desire and plan for our life). But we forget that in order to experience the Resurrection and Glory of Christ we first have to experience death with Christ and to die to ourselves and selfish desires.
Jesus said to His Disciples: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24)
This means that we should not do things that we like to do (that God does not want us to do) and to do things that we do not like to do (but God wants us to do) so that He may be glorified.
So in addition to spending our days and night in doing the works of faith as described above, we should also transform our death faiths into living and active faiths through the resurrection of Christ which is an active and constructive love that is effective.
In conclusion, let us resurrect our Dead faiths to living faiths by first dying to our selfish “resurrected” self and experiencing the cross of Jesus. Then we are able to experience the Glorious resurrection with Christ.
A Glorious life with Christ starts only after a painful death (to self) with Christ.
We will start with Christ.
Pastor Saeed Abedini Prisoner in the Darkness in Iran, but free for the Kingdom and Light
Please continue to pray for the protection and release of Pastor Saeed and Sign The Petition For His Freedom.
Pastor Saeed’s wife, Naghmeh is asking us to join her in interceding for Saeed. Everything that follows is from her:
Dear Prayer Warriors,
Many of you have asked for updates on Saeed and his situation. I want to share some updates with you and ask you to join me in prayer and fasting.
1 – I spoke with a dear Christian friend who was imprisoned in Iran and given the death penalty. She told me now the Iranian government has learned their lesson, they don’t give death penalty to Christians any more because they know there will be such an uproar and those prisoners will be released early. Now they give long term imprisonment knowing there won’t be as much pressure from the outside and they hope that the world would forget about those prisoners who are given long term sentences. Iran is hoping the same happens with Saeed. They have made many empty promises, but have not released him yet. They hope that their empty promises silences the masses.
2 – Iran does not seem to be following through its promises in releasing Saeed and the hundreds of prisoners they had promised to release. (Read Time for Iran to Act – Time to Release Pastor Saeed)
There is an intense internal war between the moderates and the radical Muslims in Iran. The radicals seem to be having more of the control. Saeed’s situation might get worse.
3 – [There are rumors that]The Supreme leader of Iran is in critical condition, which means that if he does die, then the revolutionary guards (radical terrorist group) will be in control. This will not be good for Saeed, other Christians and critical issues (such as the nuclear talks)
This means that we need to come together even more as the body of Christ and pray.
I have been dealing with a lot of heaviness in my heart the last few days and have been interceding for Saeed. The Lord reminded me of Esther asking Mordecai and the People of Israel to join her in prayer and fasting (Esther 4:15) . I would like to ask the same of you. I can not do this on my own. It is a spiritual battle over that area (middle east). I believe we will see many unexpected things unfold and the Lord JESUS CHRIST WILL be GLORIFIED through all of this.
Will you please join in 3 days of prayer and fasting: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week (Nov. 4-6)?
That Saeed would not be forgotten. That the Lord would continue to give open doors to bring Saeed’s imprisonment to light in the public and to preach the Gospel.
Prayer for those imprisoned with Saeed. That the Lord would continue to use Saeed to lead many more to Christ.
Saeed’s freedom and persecuted Christians around the world. That they would stand strong and that each day that they are in prison would not be in vain. That their imprisonment would wake up the body of Christ and bring many many people to Christ.
Spiritual darkness in the middle east. That there would be an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. That many Muslims would come to know Jesus through visions and dreams.
The families of the persecuted and imprisoned Christians. That they would endure under the great pressures they face every day. That hopelessness and despair would not overcome them. That they too can stand strong and be a shining light for Jesus.
Thank you for joining me in prayer. I have to admit I have felt a heaviness on me and I am asking you to stand with me in prayer.
God Bless you all, Naghmeh
This category under Persecution/Martyrdom will serve to give updates on Christians around the world who are currently in prison. You will have the opportunity through Persecution.com to print up a short letter which they will translate into their language and mail to them. You can also write a letter and petition the government. Many Christians have been released as a result of the thousands of people who follow this ministry and write letters. This is one of the few ways we can help our brothers in bonds around the world. This is our duty since they are a part of the body of Christ with us:
“Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.” Hebrews 13:3
Most of these stories will come from my favorite ministry which I support: Voice Of The Martyrs. This ministry was was started by Richard Wurmbrand, a Romanian Christian who worked with the underground Church before he was taken prisoner by the Soviet Union and jailed for 14 years. His ministry now serves to raise awareness about persecuted Christians around the world. They help the persecuted church in these ways:
Providing medical support
Help and relief to families who have lost loved ones to persecution
Bible smuggling in restricted countries
Updates on prisoners encouraging thousands of letters to be sent to them
